Happy Memorial Day

Hey everyone and Happy Memorial Day!! Any special plans today?? There is a block party on my street today and my kids DO NOT do the loud music so I might take them over to Chuck E Cheese to have a day of fun! I'm still undecided, howev...er it kinda looks like they've made up their minds to veg on the couch all day in front of the boob tube playing Wii all day LOL

How is everyone doing on their healthy living journey?? I lost .6 this week which brings my total lost to 33.8! I can live with it because I had a good beginning of the week but then Friday came and it went down hill!! LOL So I'm taking it and RUNNING OFF!!

My goal is to have another 16.2 off by August 12th which is when we leave for Wildwood NJ on our week vacation! I'd like to be down 50 by that time! I think it's still possible....we shall see


Tomorrow the kiddos go back to school and I'm going to CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN and get a good workout in!! I'm in love with the Leslie Sansone Walk At Home DVDs AND I started doing the Shaun T Rockin Body Mark, Move and Groove and I'm really... enjoying it!! I do a 3 mile walk then I do 15 minutes of Shaun T. If I feel extra energetic, I go for 30 minutes of Shaun T! Either way, I try to get in roughly an hour workout in each day! That doesn't include the rest of the day's running around and other stuff I am doing!!

Monday weigh-in 4/29

It's that time again!
 


After a morning of some fluctuating water (feeling like a water tanker) I took my shower and did my weigh-in. Down another 1.4 lbs bringing my total GONE to almost 34 lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am happy I waited! :)   





Setting 10 lb goals each time is really helping to keep me on track! I only have to lose 10 pounds 3 more times and I'm out of the 200s!! That makes it a lot less overwhelming for me!!

Banana "ice cream" recipe

We all know the weather is warmer now and I don't know about you but the Mister Softie truck keeps taunting me!
 
I was inspired to make myself a treat last night so I was looking online for a recipe and I found one!  1 word....
 
YUMMO!!!
 
I used 5 frozen bananas, 6 TBSP of PB2 powder and 1/4 cup of chocolate chips in my recipe but here is the basic recipe for you to get your creative juices flowing
 
 
Here is my version....and boy was it scrumptious!!

Monday weigh-in

Hey there, I'm sorry I didn't check in on Monday.  I was so sick the past few days that I thought I was going to die!  I must have gotten hit with a stomach virus of some sort because as quick as it arrived, that's how quick it was gone!  Luckily it's out of here and I survived it!  Today I have so much to do but I'm still a few days ahead so I'm not worried.

I did my weigh in on Monday morning and managed to lose 1.2 lbs bringing my total lost to 32.4 GONE.


I am 1 lb away from being out of the 240s!!  I'm so happy that I am just that much closer!

I know I have a long way to go still but I don't look at the big picture.  The way I look at it that makes it easier for me to digest is I break it down for myself this way.  I do 10 pound increments!  So broken down I've only lost 10 lbs three times!  I have ten more pounds to lose 8 or 9 times and that I can handle!  Sometimes our brains get way too overwhelmed with the big picture.  If that happens, break it down to even 5 lb increments.  If that seems a bit too overwhelming, do 1 pound at a time.  Let's face it we didn't go to bed last night at our ideal weight and wake up this morning 120 or more pounds overweight!  We didn't gain it overnight and we certainly aren't going to lose it that way either!  Some people expect such immediate results that if they don't lose what they think they should quick enough, they quit and that's when they fail themselves.  Or they lose big numbers in the first few weeks then they're on week 4 and weigh in and find that they lost 1 or 2 lbs and they get discouraged because they aren't losing at the same rate and they quit AGAIN failing themselves.

Moral of the story, DON'T quit!!  The only time you fail is when you quit!

Monday weigh-in and Cardiologist visit today

Did my weigh in this morning and lost .2 which brings my total lost to 31.2 lbs!!  WOOHOOO

Just got back home from the cardiologist and he said everything is GREAT!!

He actually told me I didn't need a few of my daily supplements. He recommended that I discontinue taking the Omega-3, Calcium and Vitamin's C & E. He even felt I could stop taking the daily Prilosec!! He did recommend that I continue my daily low dose baby aspirin, garlic and my daily multi vitamin and to start taki
ng Vitamin D. He was very happy with my weight loss and advised that I continue to do what I'm doing!! I was advised to keep up my walking!! I go back to see him in 6 months!

I learned something very interesting today....when you lose 1 lb, your knees actually feel like they have lost roughly 8 lbs! He told me that my 31 lb weight loss feels like I lost 250 lbs as far as my knees are concerned! That made me feel AWESOME!!

I ran right over to the pharmacy and bought the Vitamin and restocked my garlic tabs!

I'm on the road to good health inside and out, mind body and soul!!! ♥

Monday Weigh-In

Time to shout out or reach out!
 
This is the first time I have gained since starting my journey on January 7th this year!  It's just a number and it's fuel to work a bit harder this week!  :)
 
I refuse to let it get me down or discourage me from shaking it off and keep moving forward.
 
So on through the tundra I go!
